Ann Brashares
Ann Brashares was born on 30th July 1967 in Alexandria (Virginia). She grew up with her three brothers near Washington D.C.. As a child Ann attended the Sidewell Friends school in Washington D.C.. After then she studied philosophy on the Barnard College. But because of financial problems, Ann has to finish the studies without examination and began to work for a big American publishing. There she liked her job, so she stays there for a few years and worked as an editor. Since 2000 she is writing exclusively books. First she began writing books for children. But after a short time she began also writing books for teenager. The book series ‘the sisterhood of the traveling pants’ (2003), about four friends, is a worldwide success. Her first book for adults ‘The Last Summer (of You & Me)’ (2007) was a New-York-Times bestseller in the USA. Now Ann Brashares is living with her husband, the artist Jacob Collins, and her four children in Brooklyn, New York. Her latest work 'Sisterhood Everlasting' now is the last book of the series 'the sisterhood of the traveling pants' (2012).
